Okay, since this is apparently a popular post, I've decided to rewrite this to actually include useful information instead of being a pointless rant about how much I don't like the game.
A while ago, my mom asked me to download the Littlest Pet Shop app for my phone to test it out and see if it's a game that needs to be babysat (like Farmville and other similar games) so she could know if she should get it on her tablet for my little sister. So I got it, tested it out, and now my little sister plays it every now and then when my mom is willing to give up her tablet.
Now, I used to spend most of my time on this game, but some time ago I stopped playing it so actively. But I'll still try to put up as much information as what I can to help out anyone who's reading this.
The main focus of the game seems to be to expand your town and have as many pets as what is possible. Pretty simple, if not somewhat annoying and repetitive after a while.
To buy pets and houses and everything else, you'll need coins (referred to as "Kibble" in the game) or bling (which is the currency that costs real money to buy)
To earn coins, you have a few options. You can play mini-games with your pets, pick up items off the street, complete quests, or collect them from play areas and funhouses.
There are four mini-games you can play with your pets. The first one doesn't give you any real reward and I only play it when I see a quest asks for it. This mini-game is the friendship matching one where you get a picture of the pet that your pet wants to play with. Once you find the pet and tap on it, they go for a walk on the street together.
The second, third, and fourth mini-games are pretty much the same thing as one another. You can groom your pet, feed it, or throw a ball at it. Each of these have three choices of what exactly you'll do: one that is free to play, one that costs ten hearts to play, and one that costs 2 bling to play. To groom your pet, drag your finger up and down the pet to wash, brush, or blowdry it. To feed it, drag your finger from the food to the pet to 'throw' it the food. To play with the ball, tap on the ball and send it back and forth between you and your pet.
Pretty simple, huh? There's no difference in the three games from the different options other than something else that you're using with the pet (soap, brush, and hairdryer for grooming; treats, cookies, and cupcakes for feeding; and three choices of balls for playing) and that each one gives you a slightly different reward, but otherwise they're the same.
Picking up items off the street is as simple as it sounds. There are a few items that appear on the street (pinecones, buckets of sand, cakes, mirrors, and other similar items) that you can tap on to earn 2 coins each. Now, this may not seem like much, but in the beginning of the game when it's pretty hard to earn money it's very helpful.
Completing quests are easy. You get a little task that you have to do (play a certain mini-game however many times, earn so much Kibble, get a certian item from the store, etc.) and you get a reward of Kibble and possibly even bling. Just follow what the quest says.
The funhouses and play areas are what give the most money though. If anything has a little coin icon above it, tap it and you'll get some coins. The play areas and funhouses will do this as soon as they hit the minimum amount of coins that can be collected for that one item (I'm not sure about this one, but I think it's about a fourth of what you can get total from it? Something like that, anyways) Any other clicking on the play areas will just prompt your pets to play on them.
The funhouses, however, are a bit more helpful. On each funhouse, you have three or four areas where your pets can play, and those areas can give you up to ten coins each per time. Again, not much, but still helpful if you need some coins.
So that's how you earn coins/Kibble. Now to talk a bit about the paid currency, Bling. To buy just about anything useful in the game, you need bling. There are 6 different packages you can buy: 20 bling for 2.99 USD, 55 bling for 4.99 USD, 120 bling for 9.99 USD, 280 bling for 19.99 USD, 800 bling for 49.99 USD, and 2,000 bling for 99.99 USD. Expensive, huh?
See, most of the items that require bling cost from 100 bling and up. Yes, there are some pets and other things that cost less, but still the majority of the bling items cost a load of bling. If I take a look at the pets in my store alone (of which I have already gotten a few of the less expensive ones) I'd need probably close to $500 USD just to get them all. And that's not including the houses, funhouses, and play areas (and locations) that also cost bling. I shudder to think how much it would cost me if I really felt the need to buy it all.
You can earn some bling for free though. There's a video you can watch in the Movie Theater that can give you 2 bling (or at least there was that option for me, I'm not sure if there will be for you) You can also get a few bling from some of the quests. And there are milestones where you'll get a few bling once you hit a certain amount of pets in your town that will also give you a few bling. And if you completely master a pet, you'll also get some bling. Or you can go to the payment page and tap on the "Free Bling" section and install some apps to get some bling like that. That's how I got most of my bling, though it is a very slow process and not entirely safe according to my tech-genius brother.
Earlier, I mentioned hearts in the mini-games section. To get hearts, it requires friends, so let me go into a little detail for adding friends.
You start off with one friend automatically, Dream Town, that you can get five hearts from every 24 hours if you don't add other friends. But this is a very slow process in gaining hearts. So, to add other friends, go to the "Social" button in the treasure chest on the lower right corner of the screen and tap on the add friends option.
Here you've got the option of making an account at the site that hosts the game (can't remember the name, sorry) and making friends on that, using Facebook to get friends, and adding them through codes. To find your code, tap on the third option and there will be a number/letter combination on the right side of your screen. This is your code. You can distribute it to other people and have them add you as a friend (in which case all you need to do is accept the friend requests when they come in, which you can do from the "Friend Requests" button that pops up in the Social screen) Or you can add codes from other people on the left side of that screen. Make sure that you type it in exactly as how they put it (and hope that they've put it down correctly as well) otherwise it won't accept.
And now that you've got a lot of friends, let me tell you now: you will not be able to get hearts from each and every one. You can only get a certain amount of hearts in a day from collecting items in their towns. I read somewhere that you can get 50, but I can only ever get 25 hearts per 24 hours from collecting on my own. But, if a friend comes and visits your town and picks up items, there will be a present waiting for you that will contain up to five hearts, depending on how many things they picked up in your town.
So, you might be wondering what else you can do with the hearts, other than spend it on the mini-games. Well, the answer is: Lucky Paws. The lucky paws are like those quarter machines in the stores: put in some money, turn the dial, and you get a random (and possibly duplicate) prize.
There are three different lucky paws machines: a free one that you can only spin every 24 hours, one that costs 50 hearts to spin, and one that costs 20 bling to spin.
The free one doesn't give out very good prizes, as you may expect. You can get some coins from it (I think that the most I got was either 200 or 300 coins, I just can't rememebr which) or a little toy for your pets to play with that is purely for decoration.
The hearts one gives out better prizes, and is what I waste all my hearts on. You also get coins from it, though a higher amount than the free one (I get a few thousand coins per time when I do manage to get coins) and you can also get more toy decorations (which I see as no different than the free ones) But what I really like about this one is that you can get pets from it. Yes, pets. I've gotten the Lambs and the Lop Bunnies so far from this, and for those that don't know, they do cost bling to buy. So this is pretty helpful.
As for the bling lucky paws, I can't really tell you about it. I'm assuming that it'll give you a megaton of coins, extra awesome toys, and probably a way better chance of gettins pets, but that's just a guess. If you have played this and know what it gives, please tell me, because I am a bit curious.
I can't really think of anything else of the game right now, as I'm typing off the top of my head. But if you have any questions or want some other piece of information regarding this game, comment and I'll see what I can do to help.
You make so many great points here that I read your article a couple of times. Your views are in accordance with my own for the most part. This is great content for your readers. pet master free spin
