Paint

My room is even more cluttered with the stuff from my parents' room, because they've moved more out of the way so that they can paint the walls.

Finally, after nearly ten years (this summer woud've made ten) we're getting rid of that awful teal color. Normally I like teal, it being one of my more favorite colors, but this one looks pretty bad. And it's flat paint, whereas the rest of the house that we've painted over since moving here is semi-gloss paint.

So yeah, there are three of the four walls painted. The last wall will be painted tomorrow, because that's when they move the bed to my room (and if I think my room is crowded now, I just have to wait until then) And, it's getting too dark to paint now.

I'm happy because I helped paint. And apparently I get paid for it too. I would've done it for free, since it's actually fun for me, but I'm not going to complain about a bit of extra money. And it's the first time I helped paint a room. Before the only painting I ever did was on school projects and a birdhouse two summers ago that I never finished because I forgot after it started raining (which reminds me, I need to get that done. My mom's complaining about it)

So now the walls are a nice dusky rose color. The paint itself stinks though. And I mean more than what paint usually stinks like. We've painted pretty much every wall in this house (except for hallways and bathrooms, which we'll also get to eventually, and the ceilings, which we also might do at some point) so I know how paint smells like. But this paint smells like pee, and my mom said (when my sister commented on it) that sometimes they use animal pee to dye things, for the color.

Needless to say, that disgusted my sister and made me laugh (even though it is a bit disgusting) And it was also brought up that they use camel dung in some cigarettes. I actually knew that (don't know from where anymore, though) but it was funny seeing my sister freak out after that. Then she left to go talk with her friend on the phone. Apparently somewhere during the week she's going to go visit her friend for an entire day.

Which means peace and quiet for the day. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to it. Yeah, I'll be stuck with more chores and having to watch my little siblings, but they're actually pretty reasonable if you don't yell and scold them (like how she and my younger brother always do, sometimes for no apparent reason)

Now I'm hungry, so I need to go see what there is to put on a sandwich. I know I'll end up having cheese and butter though. I hate peanut butter, jelly, and everything else we have available, unfortunately (well, except for the ham, but I don't want ham right now) But in some cases I really can't help but be a picky eater...kinda like my little sister and mint.
